DHS confirms 'tender age' shelters holding separated migrant infants
The Associated Press reported that the federal government was operating at least three "tender age" shelters in Texas for migrant infants and toddlers separated from their parents under the zero-tolerance policy. Children too young to state their own names were being held in facilities in Combes, Raymondville, and San Antonio. HHS confirmed the shelters the same day. The disclosure intensified congressional and public pressure that led to Trump signing an executive order ending family separation ten days later.
