Skandalakis names himself prosecutor in the Trump case

After the Supreme Court of Georgia declined to reinstate Willis and several district attorneys turned down the assignment, Peter J. Skandalakis, executive director of the Prosecuting Attorneys' Council of Georgia, appointed himself special prosecutor on Nov. 14, 2025 rather than let the case lapse at a court deadline.
