Hegseth Bars Reporters from Pentagon Press Corridor

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth issued a new Pentagon press policy in February 2025 that suspended credentials for reporters who had previously held access and barred them from the Correspondents Corridor, where journalists have worked for decades. The policy allowed credential revocation based on coverage decisions, a standard reporters and press freedom advocates said violated the First Amendment. The New York Times and other outlets immediately filed suit.
