Vance Announces Launch of Waste, Fraud, and Abuse Task Force

Vice President JD Vance announced the launch of the Waste, Fraud, and Abuse Task Force on Feb. 24, 2025, as a government-wide fraud review mechanism coordinating with DOGE. Chaired by Vance and including agency heads across the executive branch, the task force was positioned as an institutionalized supplement to DOGE's broader cost-cutting initiative, focusing on payment system fraud identification through existing verification tools such as the Do Not Pay database.
