Rubio announces cancellation of 83% of USAID programs, about 5,200 contracts

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said a six-week review was complete and that the government was canceling 83% of USAID's programs, about 5,200 contracts, moving the surviving 1,000 into the State Department. He said the canceled contracts did not serve and in some cases harmed U.S. interests.
