Andrew Scott Clyde is a Republican U.S. Representative serving Georgia's 9th Congressional District since January 2021. A 28-year Navy veteran with three combat deployments to Iraq and Kuwait, Clyde founded Clyde Armory, a gun store in Athens, Georgia, that grew from a garage hobby into a $12 million business. He serves on the House Appropriations and Budget committees. Before entering Congress, Clyde gained national attention for fighting the IRS after the agency seized nearly $1 million from his business account through civil asset forfeiture -- a battle that led to the Clyde-Hirsch-Sowers RESPECT Act signed into law in 2019.
