Sean Thomas Casten (born November 23, 1971, Dublin, Ireland) is a U.S. Representative serving Illinois's 6th Congressional District since January 2019. A clean energy entrepreneur before entering politics, Casten co-founded Recycled Energy Development LLC and served as president and CEO of Turbosteam Corporation. He holds a B.A. in molecular biology and biochemistry from Middlebury College and an M.S. and M.E.M. from Dartmouth College. In the 119th Congress, Casten serves as Vice Ranking Member on the House Financial Services Committee and sits on the Joint Economic Committee. His legislative priorities center on climate change, clean energy deployment, and financial accountability.
