Dale Strong represents Alabama's 5th Congressional District, which includes Huntsville and the Tennessee Valley — home to NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center and the Army's Redstone Arsenal. Strong started as a volunteer firefighter at age 13 in Monrovia, Alabama, then served as an EMT and 911 dispatcher before entering politics. He won a seat on the Madison County Commission in 1996, becoming the youngest Republican elected official in Alabama at the time, and chaired the commission from 2012 until he entered Congress in January 2023. In the 119th Congress, Strong sits on the Appropriations Committee, where he serves as Vice Chair of the Commerce, Justice, and Science Subcommittee, and chairs the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Emergency Management and Technology. He has championed defense spending at Redstone Arsenal, fought to relocate U.S. Space Command to Huntsville, and secured over $24.7 million in community project funding for North Alabama.
