Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker delivered his State of the State and FY2027 budget address on February 18, 2026, telling a joint session of the General Assembly that the Trump administration had cost Illinois $8.4 billion by withholding congressionally appropriated federal funds. Pritzker said the state was fighting more than 50 federal court cases to recover illegally withheld money.
