Jerrold "Jerry" Nadler has represented Manhattan in the U.S. House since winning a 1992 special election to replace the late Ted Weiss. A Fordham Law graduate and former eight-term New York State Assemblyman, Nadler chaired the House Judiciary Committee during the first Trump impeachment and currently serves as Ranking Member of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Administrative State, Regulatory Reform, and Antitrust in the 119th Congress. He announced on September 1, 2025, that he will not seek re-election in 2026.
