Katherine Anne Castor (born August 20, 1966) is a Democrat representing Florida's 14th Congressional District, which covers Tampa and parts of Hillsborough County. First elected in 2006, she became the first woman to represent the Tampa Bay area in Congress. Castor serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, where she is the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. She chaired the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis during the 116th and 117th Congresses (2019-2023). Before Congress, Castor served on the Hillsborough County Board of Commissioners (2002-2006) and practiced public administration law. She earned a B.A. in Political Science from Emory University and a J.D. from Florida State University College of Law.
