Michael Allen Collins Jr. (born July 2, 1967) is an American businessman and Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Georgia's 10th Congressional District, serving since January 2023. Born and raised in Jackson, Georgia, Collins graduated from Georgia State University in 1990 with a B.B.A. He and his wife Leigh Ann founded Collins Trucking in the early 1990s, growing it from one semi-truck to a fleet of 115 that hauls freight nationwide with over 100 employees. Collins is the son of the late Mac Collins, who represented Georgia's 8th Congressional District from 1993 to 2005. Collins first ran for Congress in 2014, losing a Republican runoff to Jody Hice for the GA-10 seat. When Hice vacated the seat in 2022, Collins won the Republican primary in a runoff against Vernon Jones, then defeated Democrat Tabitha Johnson-Green in the general election. He won re-election in November 2024 with 63.1% of the vote against Democrat Lexy Doherty. In the 119th Congress, Collins serves on the Committees on Transportation and Infrastructure (chairing the Water Resources and Environment Subcommittee), Natural Resources (Vice Chair of Oversight and Investigations), and Science, Space, and Technology. On July 28, 2025, Collins announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate in 2026, challenging Democratic incumbent Jon Ossoff.
