Idaho Social Studies Standards (2024)
Idaho Content Standards for Social Studies - 2024 adopted standards with 2026 revision in development by committee of Idaho educators. Four content domains: History, Geography, Economics and Financial Literacy, and Civics and Government. Beginning 2026-2027 school year, all secondary pupils must meet state civics and government standards, successfully complete USCIS-based civics test (Idaho Code 33-1602), and participate in US Government and Politics course. K-5 Western Civilization standards also under development. Final standards presentation to State Board of Education and Idaho Legislature anticipated 2026.
