NH Civics Education Standards

New Hampshire Minimum Standards for Public School Approval (Ed 306) and Civics Education requirements per SB 216 (2023) and RSA 193-C. Requires nonpartisan civics education beginning no later than 8th grade and continuing in all high schools. Graduation requirements: one credit US and NH History plus one-half credit US and NH Government/Civics. Students must attain locally sanctioned passing grade on competency assessment AND 70 percent or better on 128-question USCIS civics naturalization examination. NH Civics Education Commission provides oversight, implementation, curriculum, and professional development with assurance of evenhandedness. Defines civics as civic knowledge, civic skills, and civic dispositions.
