Trump revokes Secret Service protection for Hunter and Ashley Biden
First removal of protection for presidential children while parent lives
President Trump announced on Mar. 17–18, 2025 that protection for Hunter and Ashley Biden would end 'effective immediately'.
The Secret Service issued a statement saying it was 'aware of the President's decision' and would work to ensure compliance.
Federal law gives former presidents and their spouses lifetime Secret Service protection; protection for children over 16 normally ends on departure but can be extended by the outgoing president for up to six months.
