Iran Ghalibaf accuses US of three ceasefire violations, IRGC reports tanker halt in Strait of Hormuz

Iranian Parliamentary Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf released a public statement on April 8, 2026 accusing the United States of violating three clauses of the 10-point ceasefire plan within 24 hours. These include continued Israeli strikes on Lebanon, a drone found in Iranian airspace, and US rejection of Iran's nuclear enrichment rights. Iran's state media and the IRGC separately reported that tanker passage through the Strait of Hormuz had been halted in response to the Lebanon strikes. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told reporters "the strait is open" and the White House denied the closure reports, calling them "completely unacceptable."
