USDA Orders 2,600 Employees to Relocate or Resign From Washington
Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins formally ordered approximately 2,600 USDA employees based in Washington, D.C., to relocate to offices in Kansas City, Missouri, or other field locations by a fixed deadline, or face termination. The directive was the largest single federal agency relocation order of the Trump administration. Employees in nutrition, rural development, and farm programs were primarily affected.
