Supreme Court unanimously orders the US to facilitate Abrego Garcia's return from El Salvador

The Supreme Court issued a unanimous per curiam decision in Noem v. Abrego Garcia affirming that the Trump administration must facilitate the return of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia from El Salvador, where he had been illegally deported and held at CECOT prison. The Court upheld U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis order but distinguished between facilitating versus effectuating his return, acknowledging deference to the executive branch on diplomatic matters. All nine justices agreed the deportation violated existing law.
