Charles Ellis "Chuck" Schumer was born November 23, 1950, and serves as the senior United States Senator from New York and Senate Majority Leader. Voters first elected Schumer to the Senate in 1998, and he became the first New Yorker to serve as Senate Majority Leader in 2021.
