Jasmine Felicia Crockett (born March 29, 1981) is a Democratic U.S. Representative for Texas's 30th congressional district, serving since January 3, 2023. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, she earned a B.A. in business administration from Rhodes College (2003) and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center (2006). Before Congress, Crockett worked as a public defender in Bowie County, Texas, then as a personal injury lawyer. She served in the Texas House of Representatives for District 100 from 2021 to 2023. In the 119th Congress, she serves on the House Judiciary Committee and the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, holding the positions of Ranking Member of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Oversight and Vice Ranking Member of the Oversight Committee. In December 2025, she announced her candidacy for U.S. Senate in Texas for the 2026 election.
